One of the best Thai restaurants in LA! Favorite dishes to order are the yellow curry, soft shell crab, soft tofu with chicken, and pad kee mao! The staff and owners are always so nice and welcoming. Another plus is that they take reservations, which are definitely needed since they're so busy. 10/10 would recommend!
Celebrated my daugjter-in-law's birthday in this place. Place was full during lunch time we went but they have an outside accommodations that can seat maybe 20 or more people. Food was served fast and delicious. Servers were very nice and helpful and quick to help. Giving this place a 10 !
President Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in the 626 so far. The food is absolutely delicious. I knew it would taste authentic when they never asked for the spiciness levels on any of our dishes (they ended up being a moderate level of spicy). The Pad Thai and curries were delicious. I'm very glad I paid a bit more for the seafood pad thai; it came with a good amount of octopus, shrimp, and scallops that complemented the noodles greatly. The red curry sauce tasted rich with a wonderful balance of savory, sweet, and sour flavors. The prices here skews toward the higher end, though the portions are larger than other Thai restaurants. Service was also very efficient and friendly. The parking lot is virtually non-existent. I would recommend just finding street parking on Rosemead Blvd or a local cross street if you're coming during a busy time such as the weekends.
Yummy! President Thai is a food destination for solid, authentic Thai Cuisine. Thai restaurant is worth the wait. Solid food that comes hot and flavorful. My favorite dishes are the following: 1. Thai Basil Eggplant with Chicken Breast 2. Pad See Eww Beef Spicy Level 6 3. Green Curry Sole Fillet 4. Orange Chicken They have spicy condiments upon request. My favorite is the vinegar Jalapeños. They also have Sriracha type of hot sauce as well as chili pepper flakes. They do a really good Jumbo Shrimp Appetizer if you are feeling fancy.
This is my favorite spot for Thai food. Now I'm not a huge Thai food eater. So please take this review from a foodie that partakes Thai here n there. Weekends + evenings this place is packed. Went on a Saturday night and the wait was about 30min. It's always been like this as far as I can remember. Traditional and older style decor. Just brings some homely vibes to President Thai. Service has always been friendly. Other patrons however are not always friendly. Had about two not so good encounters with people who go here. Papaya salad medium spicy - fresh and light. Very delicious. Garlic Jumbo Prawns - I swear these have lost their status. They have been amazing every single time I've been except for the last time. I don't know if they needed to grill them more or what but something wasn't absolute hit like it normally is. I'll always get this dish btw. Basil Pork Belly - How is this a pork dish? The amount of crispy pork to green bean ratio dwindles every time. Delicious and savory and not so spicy. I wish there was more pork Fried crab rolls - First time having these. They remind me of a crab egg roll. Crab meat and other stuff inside is mushy. Texture is ok and flavor is okay. Would I get these again probs not. Crab Meat Fried Rice - Presidents Thai rice dishes have always been good. This came in very good. Just not enough balance in the flavors. The rice overall was more oily than ever and you get a lot of crab meat. Pad Se Ew - My favorite item. I opt for beef instead of chicken and this is a clutch move. Noodles do not stick to other. Seasoning is very umami and not too salty or sweet. It's very good. I'll always get this
My friend and I raced to get here. The last one to get here had to pay for dinner. We came at the same time but she beat mebto the entrance. The ambiance was nice na dnot as loud and not as filled as the weekend. Jesse was our server and he was great, bringing us water, our Thai iced teas, and our orders came out pretty quick. There was no wait today. Maybe because it's a Monday. We enjoyed the seafood pad thai and the beef satay. Everything was flavorful and delicious. And perfect temperature, too. For dessert, we had the mango with sticky rice. I used to make this and its time consuming to make. It came hot and tasted great!! You get the coconut flavor in the rice and on the sauce. Mango was perfectly riped. Ivgave five stars for the ambiance, their food ans swrvice. Thanks President Thai team for a memorable meal with mi amiga.
Perfect for group of people dining. They got a lot of good dishes it will be great to share everything so you can get a taste on everything. MVPs of the night: Shrimp coconut soup. Ong choy. Pad Thai. My friend loves " presidents bbq beef" . It's really tender they said .
After many years, I have finally come back to eating here since it's so close to me now. Parking can be a pain, but they do have a small/medium sized designated parking lot. This place can get a bit pricey but overall the food and portion size justifies it. 1) Pad thai tofu = would definitely get again, perfectly seasoned and good amount 2) Duck noodle soup w/ egg noodles = this was ok. wouldn't get again but I think it's more because it's not my type of food preference 3) Pineapple fried rice (standard w/ chicken) = delicious. Would def get again, flavor was on point 4) crab roll appetizer = deliciously crunch, real crab and big pieces. 6 total. I would def get again 5) shrimp and scallop dish = this was pretty salty... unfortunately. It was hard to consume but went well with the pineapple fried rice. I dont think I would get this again 6) Mango sticky rice = you can never go wrong with this. mangos were extra sweet! Overall, I'd give this place a 4.5, but I'll round to 5. The ambiance is great, service is attentive and nice, and they were accommodating to our baby - brought us paper plates with plastic fork/spoon, and plastic water cup with straw for her.
It's been a while... since we sat down and ate. Around 2pm on a Saturday I expected more of a wait but we were sat in 10 minutes of putting our name down. The staff is very friendly, giving my kids high fives and saying hello to them, the kids love it. We were hungry and wanted to order everything. Good thing we only started (and ended) with two items. Kids ate almost the whole cup of rice between them. Wife and I enjoyed the yellow curry with chicken, always hits the flavor spot. Ask for the chili plate on the side if you want your food spicer or just order it hot to begin. It was busy with a few birthdays, love the song happy birthday dear customer! Instant classic! Ended the meal with a Thai Tea and Thai Coffee and while the kids slept, we enjoyed our drinks. Can't wait to enjoy more of the menu next time.
